You Can Homeschool High School.
The stakes feel higher. The subjects feel harder. And suddenly there are transcripts, credits, GPA calculations, tests, a diploma, and maybe even college admissions to think about. We know, and we're here to tell you: parents just like you are doing this every single day.
With the right support, you can too.
We Know What You're Carrying
Homeschooling through high school isn't just a bigger version of what you've been doing. It's a whole new level of responsibility, and the voice in your head knows it.
You're wondering:
-
Am I teaching the right subjects in the right order?
-
How do I assign credits for things that don't fit neatly into a box?
-
What counts as a full credit? A half credit?
-
Will colleges take the diploma and transcript I make seriously?
-
What if I've been doing something wrong this whole time?
Those questions are completely normal. They don't mean you're failing — they mean you care deeply about getting this right. And getting it right is absolutely possible
Here's the Real Map of Homeschool High School

Course Planning
Students need 20–38 credits to graduate, spread across four years. That includes English, math, science, social studies, electives, and (depending on your goals) foreign language. You get to decide how those credits are earned — through textbooks, online courses, dual enrollment at a community college, apprenticeships, co-ops, or real-world experiences.
Credits & Hours
A typical high school credit equals approximately 120–180 hours of work. You are the supervisor of instruction — you assign the credits based on the work your student does. Yes, you really do have that authority.
Grades & GPA
You assign grades. You calculate GPA. Some families use traditional letter grades; others use mastery-based systems. Both can work. We can help you understand what colleges are looking for.
The Transcript
This is the document that will follow your student to college applications, scholarships, military service, trade programs, and employment. It doesn't have to be intimidating — it's simply an organized record of what your student learned and when. The secret? Build it as you go, not all at once at the end.
The Diploma
As the homeschool parent, you have the legal authority to award your student a high school diploma. It means something, and when it's paired with a professional transcript, it opens real doors.
Record Keeping
Keeping a paper trail matters — course descriptions, reading lists, project portfolios, test scores, and grades. This protects your student and you. Good records make everything else easier.
You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone
Statheros exists because we believe every homeschool parent — including you — deserves a knowledgeable partner in their corner. We love helping families navigate high school with confidence. And we have lived firsthand, the real, messy, beautiful work that homeschool education actually looks like.
Whether you're just starting 9th grade or your student is headed toward graduation, we have the services and support to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Transcript Audit & Review
Available to Everyone
This isn't just a proofread. Our Transcript Review Service takes a comprehensive look at your student's coursework as a whole and provides personalized recommendations to better prepare them for their post-graduation goals — whether that's college, a trade, the military, entrepreneurship, or something else entirely.
Think of it as a roadmap check: are the courses your student is taking actually setting them up for where they want to go? We'll tell you what's working, what's missing, and what adjustments could make a real difference while there's still time to make them.
This service is available to all families — whether you're a Statheros Academy member, a Homeschool Society member, or homeschooling completely on your own — and is conducted for one student at a time.
