Parent Evaluation- A Thoughtful Way to Reflect on Your Child’s Growth
Families enrolled in Statheros Homeschooling have the option to complete a Parent Evaluation as one way of fulfilling their student assessment requirement.
The Parent Evaluation is a structured reflection that helps parents step back and look at their child’s development over the past school year. Instead of relying solely on test scores, this process allows families to consider the whole child and the broader picture of learning and growth.

The goal is not to compare students or assign grades. The purpose is simply to document growth and help families make thoughtful decisions about how to support their child moving forward.
Support for Families Homeschooling Students with Significant Special Needs
Every child’s educational journey is different. For some families, learning does not follow traditional academic paths because their child lives with complex medical, developmental, or neurological challenges.
For these students, progress may not appear in traditional academic milestones. Growth may be seen through communication, regulation, engagement with the world, increased comfort, or small but meaningful steps toward independence.
To better support these families, Statheros offers a specialized Parent Evaluation designed for students with significant special needs.
This version of the evaluation allows parents to reflect on their child’s development in a way that better reflects their daily reality. Rather than focusing primarily on academic subjects, the evaluation recognizes areas such as stability, engagement, communication, daily living skills, and meaningful developmental progress, and incorporates academics in a realistic way, aligned with each child's abilities.
The goal remains the same: thoughtful reflection, recognition of growth, and intentional planning for the year ahead.
Parent evaluations are only available to families enrolled in our umbrella school, Statheros Academy.
Optional Professional Review
Families who complete a Parent Evaluation may choose to upgrade their evaluation reviewed by our Professional Evaluator, Kim Almas. This optional service includes a review of the completed evaluation and a signed Statement of Progress on Statheros letterhead. Some families choose this option to strengthen their homeschool records or to provide documentation for future opportunities such as scholarships or college applications.
