Preguntas frecuentes

If I live in Colorado, do I need to submit a Notice of Intent after I enroll with Statheros Academy?

No.

Once your child is enrolled in Statheros Academy, DO NOT file a NOI.

Is Statheros faith based, or secular?

Neither.

Statheros is inclusive. All members of the Statheros team are unapologetically Christian, but there are no religious or political requirements to join.

We serve all homeschoolers.

How is my family’s data handled?

We use Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliant forms to collect all sensitive information.  All of our files are encrypted at rest and in transit. No one has access to your family's information who is not directly working for you. Our Homeschool Coaches do not have access to your registration information. They only have access to what you share with them.

I'm formerly enrolled but didn't enroll last year. Is there anything I need to do to enroll for this year?

Yes.

You must keep your enrollment active consistently year to year to be eligible to re-enroll. If your enrollment lapses for a school year, you will need to enroll as a new family, which includes an administration fee, for us to reactivate your account. If you did not complete an assessment as required, you will be required to complete standardized test scores or complete an evaluation for us to process your enrollment.

If your family is no longer enrolled and you want to utilize our official transcript service for the first time but do not need to enroll for the current school year, you may do that here

Do I need to do semester reporting?

No.

All you have to do is an evaluation or test every other year.

If I live outside of Colorado, do I need to do anything for my State?

Yes.

You still must fulfill legal reporting requirements for your state or country, enrollment with gives access to all of our services.

Can I enroll in Statheros Academy and still enroll my child in a private or public homeschool program?

Yes!

You will be required to adhere to our standards, along with the policies of any homeschool enrichment program you enroll in (private or public).

Be sure to check with them to ensure you understand their rules.

What are the teaching, school days, and hour requirements for Colorado homeschoolers?

Homeschool Coaches provide confidential, personalized support on short notice. Utilizing our wide offering of services gives parents the confidence boost they need to set up kids for success.

The Statheros team is emphatic about providing the highest quality service while empowering you to homeschool with the absolute autonomy and flexibility without restrictive policies. We are grateful for every family that we serve.

Annual. Enrollment opens for each school year on March 1. We do not close enrollment.

Is testing required?

No.

You can test if you want, but you don't have to. You also have the choice to do a Parent or Professional Evaluation.

What does Statheros require for Attendance?

It is critical that you meet the minimum requirement of 172 days per year, averaging 4 hours per day and that you track your attendance at home.

We do not require that you turn in your attendance to us, but you are required to keep up-to-date records at all times.

You are free to turn in your attendance to us each year for record storage if you choose.

The only time we will require you to turn in your attendance is if we are audited, in which case we will notify you, and you will have three business days to turn it into us. Failure to respond will result in removal from our school.

What does Statheros mean?

Statheros (σταθερός), is Greek for constant, stable, fixed, firm, stationary, standard, consistent, steadfast, and permanent.

Successful homeschooling parents embody Statheros.

Homeschooling comes with uncertainties, but having a solid source of support brings peace of mind.

Statheros Homeschooling is your constant, a firm foundation you can always rely on. When questions arise, or doubt creeps in, you have a place to turn—consistent, steady, and unwavering, just like the path you’re building for your child.

Do you require vaccine records?

No.

Your medical decisions are your business, not ours. We know that you are the expert on your family's healthcare. Just ensure you keep your private records on file in your own home. If you participate in a publicly-funded enrichment program, you will need to turn in your student's records or non-medical exemption form to the school district.

What information do you collect for Enrollment?

Family Information:

Parent(s) name(s), contact information, and home address

Student Information:

Student(s) name(s), date(s) of birth, grade level, and previous school (if applicable)

Teaching Resource List:

The name(s) of curriculum if you use it, the learning opportunities that you provide for your student(s), or your method of homeschooling.

What if I homeschool year-round?

No problem! We completely get why families choose to do this and encourage you to run your homeschool in the way that works best for you.

For record-keeping purposes and consistency, our school year starts on July 1 and goes through June 30 of each year.

Just make sure that in this 365 window, you are completing your 172 days, averaging 4 hours per day.
